Tidal Wave’s dub was done in Los Angeles. It is decently performed but its scripting badly loses the nuance of the Japanese dialog. Dubbing cast includes Marvin Miller, Susan Sennett, Ralph James and Joe Dante. Yes, the future director of Gremlins did some dubbing for this. Overall though, Tidal Wave is not recommended. It’s an interesting curiosity, but only glimmers of the suspense and pathos of the Japanese version remain. It was rated “PG” by the Motion Picture Association of America.
